Chinatown

Starting today, trying to jot down the movies I see. Could also act as a personal memoir as to the pulp I have churned through during my life time.

Chinatown: Holds your attention. However, I felt disappointed at the end. Not the kind of ending I would have like to see. I am sure critics will disagree, though.

Rating: 3 out of 5

Story in a snippet: Story of a private detective trying to solve a murder. It turns out that there is more to it than meets the eye. Basically, it is a rich guy plotting to buy all the land in a barren valley and then irrigating it to make the land fertile and himself richer. Sadly, he succeeds in the end.

+: Jack Nicholson's acting, though the patched nose is irritating after a couple of scenes. His expression on seeing Faye dead is awesome.

-: Ending. All that time spent to learn that bad does win.
